Michael A. Jackson
Founder of Government for the People, Veteran, political activist and Candidate for State Assembly in 2006.

Serving His Country

At the age of 18, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and served for ten years. He graduated with Honors from Electronis Technician School and Electronics Technician Class C School. As an instructor at the Nuclear Prototype Training Unit, Michael taught officers and enlisted personnel the theory, materials, and operation of a nuclear power plant.

Michael served aboard the U.S.S. San Francisco as a Propulsion Plant Supervisor/Reactor Operator and recieved the Navy Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Leader in Technology

Michael graduated from Citrus College in Glendora in 1994 with an Associate of Science Degree in Natural Science. He then went to UCLA and graduated in 1996 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

Michael is currently working as an Advanced Technology System Supervisor at a leading defense company. Previously, he worked at TRW/Northrop Grumman Space Technology as a Satellite Payload Project Manager. A Navy Veteran with ten years of service and work in the Aerospace Industry with a high security clearance, Mr. Jackson has a background which gives him an understanding and perspective to help on Port issues.

Advocate for the People

Folowing his campaign for State Senate in 2004, Michael and Elissa Jackson, founded "Government for the People", a general purpose county committee dedicated to researching judicial candidates and propositions to inform the voters about judicial candidates that will rule fairly based on the constitution and existing law. Information and recommendations were sent to approximately 105,000 voters for the November 2004 Elections. For the 2006 June Primaries, their judicial recommendations helped to elect three judicial candidates outright and put four into runoffs on the November 2006 ballot. They are researching and preparing information for the November 2006 ballot.

Family and Education

Michael and his wife Elissa have two children who attend local public schools, and because of this, Michael knows he importance of education and the challenges that our schools and families face.

Having been involved for the past twenty years in educational programs, including being active in his local PTA, Michael will work hard to make sure that our schools, teachers, and students get the quality tools necessary to succeed.
