Gabriella Holt Campaign Misrepresentations

On campaign literature, Ms. Holt shows that she is a Registered Nurse / Teacher rather than what she has been actually doing as required by law? Her reasoning became clear when Ms. Holt said that a nurse and teacher polled well in the district.  “Polling shows that a Nurse and a Teacher do well in this districts and I am both.”

My opponent has been working at a tax-payer funded, small city cable channel for the last five years and resigned in November of 2007 to pursue her race for State Assembly.  See Palos Verdes Peninsula News Holt Resigns fourth paragraph and Cambridge Who's Who - Gabriella Holt - Information, Communications, Broadcasting.

The following link shows that Ms. Holt’s nursing licensing was inactive as of March 7^th, 2008.  (Gabriella Holt License Holder).  The definition from the enclosed link is "INACTIVE: License is inactive. Licensee may not practice in California. The licensee has not met the continuing education requirements."  It does appear the Ms. Holt has re-activated her nursing license sometime after this date to justify her assertions that she is a registered nurse.  I have been unable to locate any records showing that she has worked as a nurse in the last two decades.

Ms. Holt also obtained a preliminary teaching credential for "Career Technical Education" (job training) after she announced her decision to run for State Assembly.   On the following link, you will see that the issuance date for the credential is 12/15/2007.  The authorization code shows that “This credential authorizes the holder to teach in the subject or subjects named in grades twelve and below and in classes organized primarily for adults, in career technical instruction courses.  California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.  Most of her campaign photos show young children and unless they are looking for a job in Arts, Media, and Entertainment, Ms. Holt is not credentialed to teach them. 

Ms. Holt had to file a campaign statement that ended December 31, 2008.  What did she say that she was doing then?  If you scroll to the bottom of the Secretary of State Website Gabriella Holt Campaign Filing it shows her current occupation as "CANDIDATE FOR ASSEMBLY". 

The Democrats are already questioning Gabriella Holt’s credibility.  See:  Holt pumps up campaign on www.LBReport.com.   Ms. Holt has lived in the Palos Verdes Peninsula for over twenty years, yet 61% of the 54^th District voters live in Long Beach.  Long Beach 134,616 vs. 41,517 for Palos Verdes Peninsula (PVP) as of 12/27/2007.  Democrats drew this district thinking a PVP Republican would run against a Long Beach Democrat.  Will Republicans oblige the Democrats again?  Is Ms. Holt the candidate that the majority of Republican’s want as an advocate in Sacramento?  Would she fight for changes that benefit the majority of the voters in the 54th? 

An additional note that may be food for thought is that Ms. Holt's pride of place endorsement for school board re-election was then Democrat State Assemblyman Alan Lowenthal (Gabriella Holt School Board Campaign).  If Lowenthal felt that Ms. Holt would do anything different than a Democrat, would he have endorsed her?

Past performance is an indication of future performance.  If Ms. Holt campaign is driven by what polls the best and she actively promotes misleading information in her campaign, what will she do in the future?

I could compare our positions here, but I see little use in doing this since I believe her campaign and pollsters determine what her positions are.  My positions have been and continue to be constant on all issues of importance.
